Fuya Fuya's first single and music video was released during the spring of 2023. After 10 years of exploring different musical fields, starting with Ecuadorian and Latin-American traditional music and having encounters with both jazz and classical styles, Fuya Fuya narrowed down her style mixing her Latin roots with Hip-Hop and R&B. The track invokes strong imagery of her birthplace, a country of diverse landscapes and impressive scenery.
She wrote and directed her music video along with videographer Julianna Williams and art director Mara Decker.
RUNNIN
Fuya Fuya's second single, "Runnin", showcases her bilingual songwriting featuring a passionate verse in Spanish. With hints of trap and Neo-soul the track starts with an intro that is mesmerizing, like a conscious dream or an ungraspable mental space, which transitions flawlessly -if unconsciously- into the first verse which happens inside the insecurities of the ego. Throughout the verses, the mental space is being transformed moving from feeling insecurity to outwardly expressing internal emotions. 'Runnin' touches upon contrasting states of mind, evoking feminine intuition from a place of vulnerability, while simultaneously coming forth with confidence and veracity.
